From Robert Lalonde, ACN Canada in Jordan
A meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio to Iraq and Jordan, His Excellency George Lingua, allowed a delegation from Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) to learn that Pope Francis’ visit to Jordan at the end of May will include:
- A Mass at the International Amman stadium where a crowd of 20,000 people is expected.
- Meetings with people who are in need such as: the poor, the sick, the disabled and refugees – where they will have the opportunity to tell their stories;
- A meeting with King Abdallah II at the Royal Palace.
A delegation of 9 journalists with Father Andrezej Halemba, Head of Projects for the Middle-East section of ACN, at the helm – is actually on mission visiting Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Palestine in succession. This voyage has as a goal to learn more about the situation of Christians in the Middle-East and about the planning of Pope Francis’ visit to Jordan and the Holy land this coming May.
